Bridging Partnerships for Growth

The High Commission of Canada in Sri Lanka has long had a constructive working relationship with the Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council. I wholeheartedly thank the members of the SLCBC for their continuing support in building business partnerships between our two countries. While Canada’s relations with Sri Lanka after independence began with a strong development orientation, they have flourished in the intervening years to include an important private sector component, along with extraordinary people-to-people links. These multifaceted ties will undoubtedly serve us well as we continue with collective efforts to grow our commercial relationship to the benefit of both countries. The launch of this website is another positive step in this direction. Our hope is that the website will be a tool that draws together businesses and their communities, helps create synergies of effort, and ultimately, contributes to the work of expediting growth in commercial activity between Sri Lanka and Canada.
