PULSES SPLITTING & PROCESSING INDUSTRY (PVT) LTD

We Commenced Trading Activities as a “Family Company” during the year 1999, in the name of Pulses Processing Industry (Pvt) Ltd, catering to the needs of the Domestic Market by Importing and Supplying Grains & Pulses.
We specialized in the supply of Processed Red Split Lentils (H.S. CODE NO. 0713.40.12) and its whole sale distributions in the Domestic Market . During the years 2005 – 2006 having realized the need and the importance of setting up a Splitting & Processing Industry for Grains & Pulses in Sri Lanka, we sought the assistance of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka to obtain their Approval to set up a 05 Production Line Pulses Splitting & Processing Industry at 92/7, Pattiwila Road, Goanawala, Sapugaskanda.
Our Proposed Project was approved by the Director General of Board of Investment of Sri Lanka Mr. Dhammika Perera and  special investment Approval was granted, under section 17 (2) of the B.O.I. Law No.04  of 1978 under “Local Market Oriented Category”  (Agro Based Product) on condition that we supply our final product of Red Split Lentils only  to the Domestic Market and the raw material  to be imported on duty paid basis. We were offered the facility of importing the required machinery on duty free basis and also a 05 year “Tax Holiday”
 Approval was given on 9th May 2007, and we commenced Factory Construction work (Day & Night) in July 2007, with the assistance of Indian suppliers and Indian Engineers.
We commenced Commercial Operation in February 2008, with the completion of 02 production lines.
We entered the domestic Market of Red Split Lentils in a “Big Way” as the Pettah Whole Sale Traders preferred to purchase our Factory produced good quality Red Split Lentils (Trophy Brand).
Our Branded Product “Trophy Brand” packed in 25 kgs P.P. Bags reached the No. 01 Status in the Pettah Wholesale market within a period of 03-04 months, on completion of the balance 03 production lines our production capacities increased and we also improved the quality standards of our finished product of Red Split Lentils by installing 05 most advanced CCD Digital Camera, Colour. Sorters in our Factory. Subsequently with the Approval of the Board of Investment and the Sri Lanka Customs we ventured in to Export of Red Split lentils, “a pioneering effort by a Sri Lankan Company”, and within a period of 2 ½ years the value of our Exports Sales have reached Rs. 6 Billion.
We completed our project of 05 Production lines Pulses Splitting & Processing Industry in December 2009, with an investment of Rs. 225 Million.  We have now obtained an approval from the Board Of Investment of Sri Lanka for an expansion Program of 04 additional production lines.
On Completion of these additional 04 production Lines, our Pulses Splitting & Processing Industry Factory would be the largest in Whole of Asia, equipped with  09 production lines, 08 most advanced CCD  Digital Camera Color Sorters, under one roof with a factory floor area of 80,000 Sq Ft.
